Job Location: Napa, CA

Job Type: Temporary

Pay Rate: $22-$30/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm

**Must have Lab Experience and previous wine knowledge is a plus.

Description of Position: 
Do you have experience as a Winery Lab Technician? We are seeking a eager candidate to engage in hands-on learning at our bottling center. This role is crucial in ensuring product quality and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) through routine and advanced chemical analyses on bottle-ready products. The position requires effective communication with production team members to drive process improvements. This temporary assignment typically runs from August through February and may include weekend work and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all laboratory work instructions and safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine Quality Assurance audits on the bottling line.
  • Calibrate and ensure proper functioning of lab equipment.
  • Perform accurate chemical and physical analysis on wines.
  • Collect and prepare samples from tanks and bottling lines.

You will be supporting a well-established winery in Napa, California. 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Availability from August through the end of February.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime.
  • Strong understanding of analytical procedures and mathematics.
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow directions precisely.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must be 21 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of different wine types.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with MS Teams and SharePoint.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: 
Work conditions in the winery can be cold, warm, wet, slippery, and noisy, with exposure to loud noises, fumes, toxic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and lift truck traffic. The role involves frequent walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing stairs and ladders. Must be capable of moving up to 55 lbs and hold a valid driver’s license. Occasional travel and the ability to work weekends and overtime are required.
