Warehouse Storekeeper
Job Location: Modesto, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $22.36-$27.18/hour
Schedule: Monday - Thursday; 10:30am-3:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience working as a Storekeeper in a warehouse setting? Our client is looking for a candidate to work part time for our client in Modesto. This will be an ongoing assignment for the next several months. This is a part time position working about 20 hours a week. Ideal candidate enjoys working on a team, has strong communication skills, and is flexible to assist on different tasks and wear multiple hats.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, count, and inspect materials to ensure accurate quantity and quality
- Mark material with appropriate stock numbers and issue material and equipment to authorized personnel.
- Make periodic inventory counts on store items to ensure proper identification and re-supply needs; prepare reorder requests.
- Maintain warehouse in a clean and orderly manner; sweep, maintain, clean, and ensure the safety and security of warehouse buildings and grounds.
- Process over the counter requests for inventory items; enter information into a computer and obtain pre-printed stores issue forms prior to releasing material.
- Process faxed or e-mailed orders; enter information into the computer and deliver to appropriate destinations.
- Receive items from departments and enter into the UPS delivery system; label items and ship via UPS.
- Gather items classified as surplus; verify completion of surplus forms; tag items and place in appropriate locations.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees, and the public using principles of good customer service.
Description of Company:
You will be supporting a government agency in a city in Stanislaus County.
Experience Required:
- General warehousing procedures, including the receiving of materials.
- Methods of maintaining and taking inventories.
- Basic mathematics.
- Safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.
- Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Forklift experience would be a plus
