Job Location: Petaluma, California

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Pay Rate: $22-$25/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-4:30pm

Description of Position:
Do you have experience in shipping and receiving? Our client, a respected manufacturer in Petaluma, is seeking a skilled and detail oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join their operations team. This role is central to ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant shipment and receipt of goods, both domestically and internationally. The right candidate will bring strong inventory management skills, a customer focused mindset, and a deep understanding of shipping logistics.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming raw materials and shipments
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within an ERP system
  • Track serialized components and restock consumable inventory as needed
  • Coordinate shipments with internal teams and prepare packing materials and documentation
  • Assemble and pack outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Generate and apply shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, labels, packing slips)
  • Schedule and track domestic and international shipments, including LTL freight
  • Operate forklifts and perform palletizing for larger shipments

Description of Company:
You will be supporting a well-established company that provides industry-leading medical and simulation solutions for combat military personnel and first responders in Petaluma, California.

Experience Required:
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, and logistics (including international)
  • High school diploma and equivalent
  • Expertise in using FedEx online shipping tools
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (NetSuite Preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Familiarity with hazardous goods shipping (e.g., lithium batteries)
  • Ability to lift, palletize, and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift)
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and export documentation compliance

Preferred Experience:
  • Prior work with MIL-STD shipping and labeling requirements
  • Experience supporting R&D or production teams with part kitting and BOM revisions
  • Previous coordination of LTL freight and vendor negotiations
