Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (hours may vary)
Description of Position:
Are you an experienced Senior IT Technician with a background in network administration? We have an excellent direct hire opportunity in Napa for a skilled individual ready to advance their career. As a Senior IT Technician Network Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our client's network infrastructure, ensuring efficient and secure operations. This role requires a strong problem-solver who can independently manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

As a Senior IT Technician Network Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our client's network infrastructure, ensuring efficient and secure operations. This role requires a strong problem-solver who can independently manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Helpdesk support for all agency computers, including hardware and software.
- Ensure all support tickets are resolved within agreed-upon service level agreements (SLAs).
- Primary support and maintenance for the client database (SANDIS) and the AS/400 computer system.
- Provide 2nd tier support to IT Technicians 1 and 2, developing documentation and knowledge-base articles.
- Escalate complex issues to the IT Supervisor as necessary.
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance, security, and reliability, making necessary adjustments.
- Install and configure network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
- Manage network user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Troubleshoot network issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Monitor network traffic to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with IT teams and other departments for efficient resource utilization.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and equipment.
- Recommend and implement system upgrades.
- Maintain security by monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and mitigating risks.
- Troubleshoot issues with email delivery, authentication, hardware, software, and printer networks.
- Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of agency backups, including IBM Power 8.
- Provide Office 365 training and support for mobile devices.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field with certifications.
- 3-5 years of experience in network administration or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
- Experience with network routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Knowledge of security protocols and best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Equivalent to graduation from high school with a minimum of 5 years of network administration experience, supplemented by relevant courses and certifications.
Special Requirements:
- Must provide personal transportation or access to reliable transportation during and after work hours.
- Must have minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California law.
- This position will primarily be based in the office, with the possibility of remote work.
