Senior Finance Accounting Technician
Job Location: Los Altos, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $47.59-$52.48/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-4:30pm
Description of Position:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Finance Accounting Technician to support critical financial operations during a high priority period. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to accuracy, compliance, and supporting mission driven work. This role is ideal for a dependable finance professional who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure financial operations run smoothly and accurately.
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will provide advanced accounting and financial support across multiple functional areas, including:
- Manage accounts payable processes and ensure timely, accurate payments
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Review credit card transactions for proper coding and approvals
- Reconcile financial records and general ledger accounts
- Process payroll, invoices, and payments; track financial activity
- Support purchasing, vendor coordination, and procurement documentation
Description of Company:
You will be supporting a state government office in Los Altos, California.
Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College coursework in accounting or finance referred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting, or related financial support roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll, budgeting, and financial recordkeeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting/financial systems
- Ability to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and prepare detailed reports
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and internal financial controls
