Job Location: Napa, California
Job Type: Direct Hire
Job Pay: $80,000-$95,000/year
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
Description of Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This position plays a critical role in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing financial systems, and providing valuable insights to support organizational goals. Ideal candidate will be a seasoned accounting professional with a knack for accuracy and strategic collaboration.
Job Responsibilities:
- Transaction Management:
- Oversee and maintain accurate financial records.
- Record, verify, and post transactions in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- System Development and Optimization:
- Design and implement financial systems, including a chart of accounts and bookkeeping policies.
- Account Reconciliation:
- Verify, allocate, and post transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and update the general ledger with subsidiary account details.
- General Ledger and Reporting:
- Prepare trial balances and reconcile the general ledger for accuracy.
- Compile and analyze financial data to create detailed reports and identify trends.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Submit accurate reports and advise management on corrective actions when necessary.
Description of Company:
You will be supporting a family-owned propane service and fuel source provider for residents and businesses in the vibrant Bay Area. With a commitment to excellence and service, we are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory role
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
