Product Quality Assurance Technician

Job Location: Napa, California

Pay Rate: $22-$25/hour

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
Overtime or Weekend shifts may be available but are based depending on company needs

Description of Position:
Join a team dedicated to performance and accelerated stress testing of cutting-edge renewable energy solar panel equipment. In this role, you will execute test procedures, log data, and safely transport test samples around the lab site. We’re seeking a passionate candidate for the renewable energy industry who can follow directions precisely, multitask effectively in a dynamic environment, and work with minimal supervision. Must be comfortable traveling to their secondary outdoor lab facility in Davis, California. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform voltage and current testing using appropriate equipment, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Monitor tool operational status, ensuring corrective actions are implemented to maximize uptime.
  • Assist the quality team in maintaining calibrations and records for on-site reference devices.
  • Organize and manage module inventory.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, spare parts management, upgrades, or asset replacements.
  • Install hardware, photovoltaic (PV) modules, and monitoring equipment.

Experience Required:
  • Overall proficient knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a combination of indoor desk work, indoor laboratory work, and outdoor fieldwork.
  • Willingness and ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work on rooftops in varying temperatures.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience (Trade school or work experience)

Preferred skills & experience to be a plus: 
  • PV, HALT, and power electronics testing experience.
  • PV system site inspection experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical plans and field layouts.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • OSHA training.
  • Ability to use data acquisition systems.
  • LabVIEW tester software knowledge and ability to troubleshoot desired.
