Pay Rate: $34-$45/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm

Description of Position:
Do you have experience as a Payroll Processor? Our client is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Union Payroll Processor to support weekly payroll operations for unionized employees. This role requires strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, prevailing wage regulations, fringe benefits processing, and payroll compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing union payroll in a dynamic environment, preferably within the construction industry.

The Union Payroll Processor will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll while ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws, prevailing wage requirements, and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex payroll processes and  reporting requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
  • Process weekly payroll accurately and on time for union employees
  • Manage payroll across multiple CBAs and, when applicable, multiple FEINs
  • Ensure payroll compliance with union agreements and labor regulations

Union Compliance:
Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreement rules regarding:
  • Pay rates
  • Overtime calculations
  • Job classifications
  • Shift differentials

Deductions and Benefits:
Calculate and Process:
  • Union dues
  • Pension contributions
  • Fringe benefit payments
  • Other payroll deductions accurately

Timecard Management:
  • Review, verify, and reconcile employee timecards
  • Ensure proper handling of overtime, prevailing wages, and special pay requirements
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly

Reporting and Auditing:
Prepare and Maintain:
  • Certified payroll reports
  • Union reporting documentation
  • Tax filings and compliance records

Description of Company:
You will be supporting a well-established company in San Rafael, California.

Experience Required:
  • 2–5+ years of payroll experience, specifically with union payroll and fringe benefits
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Strong proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of:
    • Labor laws
    • Prevailing wage regulations
    • Payroll tax requirements
    • Collective bargaining agreements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment
