Job Location: San Rafael, California

Job Type: Temporary

Pay Rate: $33-$34/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am-4pm

Description of Position:
Do you have experience processing union payroll and navigating complex Collective Bargaining Agreements? We are seeking an experienced Union Payroll Processor to manage weekly payroll for unionized employees while ensuring full compliance with CBAs, prevailing wage requirements, and federal and state labor laws. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable handling complex payroll structures. Payroll experience within the construction industry is highly beneficial.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Process accurate and timely weekly payroll for union field employees, including multiple CBAs and, in some cases, multiple FEINs
  • Interpret and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement rules related to pay rates, classifications, overtime, and differentials
  • Calculate, process, and remit union dues, pension contributions, and fringe benefits'
  • Review, verify, and reconcile timecards, including prevailing wage rates and overtime
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain certified payroll reports, union reports, and required tax filings
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and accurately
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees, union representatives, and project managers regarding payroll-related questions

Description of Company:
You will be supporting a well-established general contractor in San Rafael, California.

Experience Required:
  • 2-5+ years of payroll experience with a strong focus on union payroll and fringe benefits
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, prevailing wage regulations, and payroll tax requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines
