Pay Rate: $23.44 - $25.84/hour
Job Type: Long-term Temporary
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
Description of Position:
Are you a detail-oriented professional with experience in housing programs and a passion for client service? We are seeking a Office Specialist to join our team at a Housing Authority in San Rafael, Marin County. This is a temporary position that could evolve into a permanent role for the right candidate. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development, implementation, and delivery of housing services to new and continuing assisted housing program participants. Your responsibilities will include verifying income, calculating subsidies, determining client eligibility, and providing program information to landlords and tenants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Verify income, medical expenses, and calculate subsidies.
- Determine client eligibility for continued assistance and unit/owner eligibility for assisted housing programs.
- Provide program information to prospective and participating landlords and tenants.
- Conduct briefing sessions for new and existing program participants regarding program rules, regulations, and requirements.
Experience Required:
- 3 years or more of experience with HUD/PHA regulations and the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program (preferred).
- Proficiency in HUD reporting systems (EIV/PIC) and SAVE.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook (strongly preferred).
- Experience with YARDI.
- Familiarity with interviewing techniques and social work methods.
- Strong organizational skills, record-keeping, and computer literacy.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and take appropriate notes.
