Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (may vary)
Description of Position:
Are you fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and passionate about providing vital language services to communities in need? We're seeking a dedicated Multilingual Access Specialist (MAS) to join our team. As an MAS, you'll be instrumental in bridging communication gaps for the deaf and hard of hearing populations, ensuring equitable access to our services. Your responsibilities will include providing ASL interpretation for case management programs, developing strategic communication plans, and facilitating seamless communication between individuals and families and our center staff.

Experience Required:
- Must be bilingual: Fluent in English and ASL.
- Knowledge of Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently.
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred, Bachelor's degree desirable).
- Familiarity with Interpreter Code of Professional Conduct and the Code of Professional Ethics of real-time captioners.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Understanding of developmental disabilities and related statutes.
- Ability to interact sensitively and positively with individuals with disabilities and their families.
- Immersion in the deaf community is highly desirable.
