Patient Registration Clerk
Job Location: French Camp, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $21-$22/hour
Schedule: Monday - Sunday;
Description of Position:
Do you have experience as a Patient Registration Clerk working in the Emergency Room? Our in the Stockton area is seeking experienced Patient Registration Clerks to support both the Emergency Room and Outpatient Registration departments. We are looking for candidates with recent experience working in a hospital, clinic, or medical office environment who are comfortable working in a dynamic healthcare setting.
The Patient Registration Clerk is responsible for assisting patients and families during the registration process while ensuring accuracy of patient information, insurance verification, and documentation. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism while working in a busy medical environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and/or family members to obtain registration information
- Enter and update patient information accurately within hospital systems
- Verify insurance, Medicare, and Medi-Cal eligibility and coverage
- Review insurance cards, Medi-Cal labels, and supporting documentation
- Obtain signatures on required forms and process registration paperwork
- Explain registration procedures, policies, and requirements to patients
- Direct patients to appropriate clinics, departments, or treatment areas
- Maintain appointment and registration records as needed
- Operate standard office equipment including computers, copiers, calculators, and related systems
- Assist with training or reviewing work of other staff members as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions
Description of Company:
You will be supporting a well established hospital in the Stockton area French Camp, California.
Experience Required:
- Recent experience in a hospital, clinic, or large multi-physician practice required
- Previous patient registration and/or insurance verification experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurance eligibility requirements
- Strong customer service and public relations skills
- Experience with medical filing and record keeping systems
- Computer proficiency required
- Typing speed of at least 40 WPM
- Ability to work efficiently in an Emergency Room environment
