Equipment Service Assistant, Part-Time

Assists Equipment Mechanics with repairs and installation of parts used for vehicles.
Performs minor repair on company equipment.
Identifies and reports major repair and maintenance problems.
Delivers parts and vehicles to outside garages; shuttles vehicles as needed.
Assists in the general maintenance of equipment maintenance shop area.
Ensures safe equipment operation and work practices.
Maintains work and preventative maintenance records.
Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations,
state/local agencies, City management and staff and the public.
Performs other duties as assigned.
One (1) year of experience in servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles and/or related machinery and equipment and
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent education.
Possession and continued maintenance of a Valid California Class "C" Driver's License;
California Class "A" or "B" Driver's License preferred.
Willing to work in a noisy environment with fumes from automotive exhausts and solvents;
perform heavy manual labor which may include lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and
moving tires and other items weighing up to 75 pounds and work a variety of weather conditions
in emergency situations.
