Job Description
- Detail-oriented, carefully and accurately managing and entering data
- Possess and maintain a valid Class “C” California Driver’s License.
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment and perform manual labor associated with tasks which may include lifting and working with the full range of body movements including bending, stooping, grasping and walking on uneven ground.
- Must be able to carry 25 pounds.
- Must be able to walk and/or be on foot for 6 to 8 hours a day.
- Experience with ArcGIS and GPS data collection
- Experience with a municipal public works environment, particularly with water distribution systems.
- Experience collecting and verifying data pertinent to civil engineering
- Basic engineering drafting skills; engineering math; geometry.
- Knowledge of symbols and terminology used in public works, engineering and drafting.
- Knowledge of functions, characteristics and the proper use and care of engineering drafting and survey equipment.
- Collect, file, code, index, update and retrieve reference materials such as maps, drawings and survey reports for use by professional engineers.
- Redraw maps to new scale, depicting boundaries, locations of structures such as water mains, hydrants, streets, storm drains and pertinent related information.
