Electronic Mechanical Assembly Technician I

Job Location: Petaluma, California

Pay Rate: $21-$22/hour

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 3pm

Description of Position: 
Our client in Petaluma is looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, has experience with small hand tools, and experience with electric motors.  Assemble structural, electrical, and mechanical components into subassemblies of medical training simulators, adhering to accuracy standards and prescribed deadlines. Operate and test simulator systems and subsystems to ensure performance meets expected quality standards. 

Ideal candidate will have familiarity with computer hardware and software. Ability to learn to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, Bills of Materials, Build Books, and/or technical drawings to determine methods and sequences of assembly. Proficient with hand tools like: drills, wrenches, multimeters, etc. Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Align, fit, and assemble components using hand and power tools.
  • Build and install sub-assemblies into medical training simulators.
  • Inspect and measure parts to ensure they meet established standards.
  • Learn to test and calibrate electro-mechanical systems using specialized equipment.
  • Troubleshoot failed components, repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Provide occasional support to the Repair Department.

Experience Required: 
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic math skills and demonstrated interest in electro-mechanical work.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and ability to work with small parts.
  • Attention to detail with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work well in a team.
  • Proficiency with hand tools like drills, wrenches, and multimeters.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 
One-year technical degree or 2 years of electronic assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
