Certified Payroll Specialist
Job Location: Stockton, California
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Pay Rate: $24-$25/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Description of Position:
Are you an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist with knowledge of Prevailing Wage payroll? The Certified Payroll position requires a high level of organization and careful attention to detail. The position independently tracks and submits prevailing wage paperwork and logs. You will complete this process from start to finish. In addition, you will be in charge of collecting, examining and correcting all Certified Payroll received from subhaulers and filing all employee prevailing wage payroll reporting to LCP Tracker/DIR. This position is tasked with alerting each sub haul company about necessary Prevailing Wage paperwork monthly.
We are looking for someone who has experience with Prevailing Wage payroll- ideally in the trucking and/or construction industries. Energetic and assertive are a plus. Also, this person will need to have QuickBooks and Excel experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Adheres to company policies and codes of conduct.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workspace.
- Checks company provided email every morning and throughout the day and responds as needed.
- Maintains filing system, reorganizing when needed.
- Contributes to the team’s efforts by completing high-quality work in a timely manner.
- Promptly communicates questions, concerns, and an inability to complete tasks on time to necessary staff personnel.
- Maintains professionalism, and refrains from engaging in any unprofessional conduct.
- Submits prevailing wage paperwork as needed to customers.
- Verify daily dispatch reports for prevailing wage projects and communicate with customers on project informatio.
- Communicate with subhaulers regarding their DIR/LCP Tracker report.
- Files prevailing wage paperwork for employee into DIR/LCP Tracker for all public works projects.
- Tracks and submits all prevailing wage paperwork for sub haulers as needed to our customer and communicates DIR/LCP Tracker information to sub haulers.
- Alerts each sub haul company about necessary Prevailing Wage paperwork monthly.
- Collects and examines the submitted paperwork before sending it to the customer.
- Maintains all spreadsheets related to this position, updating as necessary.
Description of Company:
You will be supporting a well-established trucking company in San Joaquin County, California.
Experience Required:
- Experience with Prevailing Wage Payroll (preferred in the trucking and/or construction industries).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Energetic and assertive personality, with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and ensure accuracy in all payroll processes.
