Job Location: Novato, California

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Pay Rate: $27-$30/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Description of Position:
Are you a tech savvy office professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment? Our client a trusted public agency in Novato is looking for an Office Administrator who can wear multiple hats. This position supports the Events Department with scheduling, billing, and outreach, while also providing occasional assistance to the IT department (such as website updates). 

Long term, this role is intended to transition into a full-time Bookkeeping position, candidates with a financial background and willingness to grow into that role are highly encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities:
Current Duties (Administrative/Events/ITSupport):
  • Make outgoing calls to vendors, customers, or event participants
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating upcoming events
  • Handle event related billing, invoicing, and follow-up
  • Provide light IT support, including basic website updates and troubleshooting assistance
  • Support general office operations and administrative tasks as needed

Future Responsibilities: (Bookkeeping):
  • Learn and assist with accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Support month-end closing and financial reporting processes
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and coordination with external accountants

Required Experience:
  • Proven experience in office administration, events coordination, or a related role
  • Willingness and ability to transition into a bookkeeping role in the future
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and working in a client facing capacity
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping or basic accounting (QuickBooks a plus)
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel a plus)
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to multitask across departments
  • Strong Communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience with basic IT tasks or website updates is a bonus
