Bilingual Human Resource Generalist

Responsibilities include hands-on management of day-today HR functions, including but not limited to:
GENERAL EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND RECORD KEEPING
Assist in recruitment, performance reviews, termination, compensation, personnel policies, and ongoing employment issues.
Employee record/file maintenance.
Provide advice and counsel on human resource issues to management and staff.
Assist managers in resolving employee conflicts.
Assist managers in administering performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
Process unemployment claims, educate staff.
Responsible for employee, internal, monthly newsletter.
Manage background check program in conjunction with external agency.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including: OSHA, Department of Labor, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA).
Member of Company Safety Committee.
Monitor and assist with worker's compensation claims reporting, billing, investigations, and communication.
Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
Assist managers to develop individual and group training programs.
Regular review all HR documents, including annual review of Employee Handbook.
EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION
Conduct annual wage survey.
Review the formal compensation structure, ensuring both market competitiveness and internal equity.
Manage all benefit plans, including enrolling new participants, and processing changes and terminations.
PAYROLL AND TIMEKEEPING
Enter new hires and changes in Optimum timekeeping software.
Provide training to supervisors.
We are looking for a candidate that possesses the following skills and qualities:
3 to 5+ years experience as a human resource generalist.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Detail-oriented, well-organized and able to adhere to deadlines.
Ability to function effectively within a multi-lingual environment that is ethnically and culturally diverse.
Ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Knowledge of federal, state and local labor laws.
Knowledge of state worker's compensation laws.
Bilingual in Spanish.
