Staff Accountant

Job Location: Santa Rosa, California

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $75,000 - $95,000/year

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (schedule may vary)

Description of Position:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team at a well-established contractor company in Santa Rosa, California. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial operations. Your responsibilities may include financial reporting, budgeting, and assisting with financial analysis. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with some flexibility, to accommodate the demands of the role.

Experience Required:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and be proficient in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and financial analysis. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is expected. 

Prior experience in the contractor industry is a plus, but not required. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, and professional certifications such as a CPA or CMA would be advantageous. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and assisting in financial audits, making attention to detail and precision paramount for success in this role.
