Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Description of Position:

A city in Sonoma County is seeking an experienced individual to join their team for the next six months. As a Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will play a vital role in shaping the digital marketing strategy for the city. Your primary responsibilities will include creating and executing marketing campaigns, harnessing the power of social media to increase visibility, and leveraging website and marketing analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans to promote the initiatives and priorities of the city.
- Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive communication/public relations program to enhance the city's brand, image, and position.
- Provide guidance, coordination, and oversight to all city departments to promote programs, events, activities, and services.
- Expertise in graphic design and layout, utilizing tools like Canva, Adobe Acrobat, and WordPress.
- Manage and maintain various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, NextDoor, and LinkedIn.
- Monitor and report on the performance of social media campaigns and content, ensuring that images are appropriately sized for each platform.
- Utilize marketing analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Experience Required:
- Excellent graphic design and layout skills.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Acrobat, and WordPress.
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, including posting, metrics analysis, and image sizing.
- A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, marketing, journalism, public media relations, English, or a related field.
- Understanding of website design and coding troubleshooting.
- Three plus years of experience in communications, marketing, and public relations, preferably in a municipal government setting.
