ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Performs a wide variety of clerical work including typing, proofreading, filing, checking, and
recording information on records; may handle various administrative duties related to a
specific department function such as permit processing.
Transcribes reports, correspondence, and other material from dictating equipment.
Acts as a receptionist; answers the telephone and serves the general public, providing
information or assistance as required.
Types letters, memorandums, or other material from oral direction, rough draft, copy, or
Operates standard office machines; such as typewriters, computers, word processors,
adding machines and other office appliances.
Sorts and files documents and records according to predetermined classifications,
maintaining alphabetical, index, and cross-reference files.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES:
Maintains and issues office supplies.
Performs mathematical calculations and checks and tabulates statistical data.
Receives, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
Assists in developing and preparing office forms.
Develops and/or prepares routine statistical reports.
May set up special cash funds and receive, count and deposit cash receipts.
May maintain or assist in maintaining a variety of records including accounting, inventory,
mileage and work records.
Receives applications for and types a variety of permits and licenses.
