Shipping/Front Office Associate
Job duties are but not limited to:
-Provide excellent customer service working directly with truck drivers, agents, and representative of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
-Ability to speak clearly and articulately to ensure they are understood while explaining instructions.
-Release loads of freight by utilizing computer, phone, and email.
-Accurate data entry and filing.
-Interface with customers and company representatives to obtain appointments, dispatch freight loads, recall freight loads, and make updates required by Government agencies.
-Frequently use phone to determine accuracy of orders and conduct load revisions based on established national and international rules.
-Check freight loads to ensure country requirements are met.
-Use visual skills to determine if all freight has been correctly loaded according to plan; interact with Supervisor to ascertain adjustments.
-Work directly with customers to resolve freight issues which may include: specialized loading instructions, damaged, overweight or lost items.
-Understand truck weight limited as they pertain to California, SOLAS, Rail and D.O.T Regulations.
-Work collaboratively with other department members as a team.
-Office tasks: Filing, ability to answer questions, ability to sit for long periods of time, occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
-Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred, not required.
-10 key: 6200 keystrokes per hour
-Typing: 40 words per minute
-Must pass pre-employment background screen
