Pay Rate: $13.50/hr.
Under direct supervision of the Director of Facilities Management, the incumbent is responsible for the cleanliness of all assigned buildings on campus and includes custodial duties.
Examples of duties include: sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, refinishing floors, cleaning classrooms, laboratories, locker rooms, chalkboards, windows, walls, emptying trash and recycling, cleaning and re-stocking restrooms, locking and unlocking doors, and assistance with event set-up. This position will also be responsible for maintaining janitorial equipment ensuring equipment is operable at all times; maintaining adequate and constant supplies in restrooms, and preparing and submitting requisitions and supply order forms.
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance of buildings in a safe and healthy manner.
Knowledge of the use and care of janitorial supplies and equipment.
Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, and water hoses.
Ability to read and write English at a level appropriate for the duties of the position.
Ability to understand and follow instructions on a daily calendar, communication logs, IIPP safety
information, work orders and product labels.
Ability to observe and use health, safety, and security working practices.
Ability to respond to emergency calls;
Ability to work individually or in a team in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changing
Ability to interact with co-workers, supervisors, faculty and staff in a cooperative and team environment.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students.
