Compounding Specialist

Responsibilities:
Mix, blend, cook, pump, and perform all tasks related to completing all required batches following batch record and job order schedule.
Understand and follow all Job Orders to obtain daily production goals.
Ensure previously weighed materials are accurate.
Perform all tasks as required to maintain accurate inventories.
Be conscious of and follow all quality control/quality assurance procedures. Communicate concerns, issues, and anomalies with the QC department.
Maintain accurate recordkeeping on batch records, log books and other documentation as required including measurements, temperatures, and specifications.
Follow proper handling and storage of all goods. Hazardous materials must be properly labeled and stored and used with appropriate equipment and PPEs.
Manage bulk storage and transfer.
Handle equipment with care, and report any wear & tear.

Scaling assistance & back up
Precise pre-weigh of compounding batches.
Accurate recording of weights & lot number information.
Exhibits control of process and materials from job start to job completion.
Prep and wash of small ware and vessels as needed.
Housekeeping of pre-weigh area and equipment.
Daily cycle counting of ingredients. Maintain accurate inventories.
Be conscious of and follow all quality control/quality assurance procedures.
Requests assistance with equipment-related issues.
Seeks out innovations leading to improved accuracy, reduction of inefficiencies.

General Compounding Department requirements
Follow all Safety procedures including chemical handling, Material Safety Data Sheet instructions, use of personal safety equipment and other as instructed
Maintain area sanitation and cleanliness at all times. Follow all sanitation operating procedures
Follow safe material handling procedures including moving pallets, drums, cases and other bulk handling
Understand and follow cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices
Assemble and disassemble any related equipment including pumps, fittings, blenders, hoses, etc. Assist in proper sanitation needs when possible.
Understand the safe use and proper operation of steam pressurized blending kettles
Perform other tasks as directed by Management
Understand and support the SWTC employee manual, and Standard Operating Procedures. Perform other reasonable tasks and projects as directed by supervisor.

Requirements:
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Proven experience in the application of Good Manufacturing Practices.
Prefer a background in cosmetics, or in chemical compounding, an industrial kitchen, steam kettles or related experience.
An independent, organized self-starter & team player who can assess needs and deliver results.
Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, & database entry.
Proficient in weights & measures.
Amazing attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Forklift experience preferred.

In addition, we are looking for are:

Comfortable with a schedule of 1: 30PM-10PM (M-F) and open to work an alternate schedule of 5AM - 1: 30PM (M-F) if necessary.
